In Living Color: A Celebration of Art, Storytelling, and Resilience at Honfleur Gallery
On Saturday, August 16, 2025, from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM, Honfleur Gallery—together with Valley Place Arts Collaborative—invites you to step into a world where bold color meets powerful storytelling.
Curated by award-winning artist Luis Del Valle, In Living Color draws inspiration from the groundbreaking 1990s TV show of the same name. The exhibition explores how color can be more than a visual element—it can be a language of identity, heritage, and strength.
Opening Night Experience
The evening kicks off with a VIP reception (limited to 100 RSVPs) featuring live performances by poet John Johnsonand America’s Got Talent finalist Malik Dope. Their artistry will set the tone for a night of creativity, connection, and cultural celebration.
As you move through the gallery, you’ll encounter work by an extraordinary lineup of artists: ABSURDLY WELL, Brian Bailey, Hiba Alyawer, Jay Durah, The Blaq Picasso, QRCKY, Yetunde Sapp, and of course, Luis Del Vallehimself. Each piece tells a story—some personal, some political, all deeply human.
Admission & Walk-In Details
This free event is open to all. While the VIP reception RSVP is capped at 100 spots, don’t let the “Sold Out” notice on Eventbrite stop you—walk-ins are welcome as space allows. We want as many people as possible to share in this celebration of art and community.
