Award-winning artist Luis Peralta Del Valle was selected for a solo art exhibition at the new Honfluer Gallery Baltimore inside MAP in Baltimore, MD. Luis is a Nicaraguan born, District of Columbia raised artist who is known for his vibrant and colorful abstract  paintings and his lifelike portraiture.

Del Valle will exhibit Love, Hope, & Art: Genesis. The show features works from various series that he produced since 2016. It includes individual pieces and works from his      Inside Out Series, Out of Chaos Series, and The Rose that Grew from Concrete Series. These works are a physical manifestation of his work and philosophy; Love, Hope, and Art. Luis believes that amazing things can be born out of the struggle and pain that we experience when it is channeled correctly. He has used his pain, frustration and setbacks to push himself into manifesting new creations, full of purpose, inspiration, and passion.

Love, Hope, Art: Genesis is a journey that documents the artistic evolution of Del Valle since a car accident in 2016 required him to reconsider the relationship between his artistic abilities and his physical, mental and emotional wellbeing. It is an exhibition about new beginnings without endings; It is about processes of growth and healing     realized through the love of self, others, and the natural world. Crucially, this exploration is not a mere personal reflection of the evolution of the artist, but rather it is a tool to help others heal and exercise and build empathy and hope. The artwork featured is  representative of the social fabric of the US and is a hopeful effort to progress society.    toward a future grounded in the principles of his philosophy of love, hope, and art.

The exhibition introduces the audience to the artist through a stylized self-portrait, Selfie Inside Out. The piece serves as a starting point for the exhibit as it was produced while Luis was still managing the changes brought about by the car accident. The exhibition continues with pieces that symbolically connect the portraiture to concepts like unity, and features portraits and self-portraits on repurposed street signs. Each portrait shows people from different stages of life and personal development.
